Scratching Items off the List

Tonight my friend and I attended the Baby and Maternity Consignment Sale. Tiffany was a great help with carrying items, helping me weed through stuff, and helping me stay on task. She was the perfect person for the job. We ran into Pleasantly Furious and her partner while we were there. Although we didn't get to sit and chat, it was nice to meet in person and put a face to a name.

I'm pretty pleased with my purchases:
  • Fisher Price Little Lamb Swing: $65 (retails for $160)

  • Bouncer: $9

  • Hands Free Breastfeeding Pump support: $10 (retails for $40)

  • Child sized rocker: $3 (plan to buy or make a cover)

  • Sealed High School Musical Board Game for Tiffany's daughter: $5

Gracie Question: She keeps scooching her ass along the carpet, like in that carpet commerical. Why?

When dogs scoot their butts across the floor that's typically a sign of full / impacted anal glands. We have to take our beagle to the vet so they can "express them" and empty them out. Google it... Kinda gross but they need to get emptied because it is very uncomfortable for the dogs. hope this helps... Enjoying reAding about your journey.

Grace is dead right about the butt scoots. Some dog breeds need it doing more than others. It's just a fact of dog ownership - like the eating of vomit!!! lovely!
Great job on the consignment store - you are a focused and purposeful shopper!
Gracie looks like she's ready to snuggle up in that chair!

Hey! That was quick :)

It was great to see you there! We are so so so happy with our purchases - particularly pants with elastic waists that don't look too awful. Thanks so much for letting us know about the sale! I'm already looking forward to March.

Good luck with Gracie. It's not pretty, but it will make her feel a whole lot better :)

nice haul at the consignment sale!

ditto what the others said re: gracie - its probably just her anal glands needing to be expressed (something i had NO idea about before dog ownership!) it can also be other issues though, so do get her checked out.

Wow - great job on the baby stuff! I haven't heard of anything like that around here, but I'm going to start looking! :)

yep, spot on with the anal gland thing.

you can learn to do it yourself (that's what i have to do for scooter), but it isn't pretty. make sure you mention it when they groom her. they can take care of it then.
