Teacher for a day

I'm on cloud 9 right now. I meet monthly with a therapist who is really well known in the field here in PA. She sees clients in her private practice, provides consultations and teaches at a well known University here in PA and another institute in Cleveland. I really admire her for her work and knowledge. So imagine my suprise when I got a call from her this morning asking me to teach one of her classes this Wednesday because she is unable to. Unfortunately, I can't because I have clients at my private practice that night but I'm so flattered that she would even consider me to do that for her. Sometimes we know we are good therapists or good at what we do but then there are these little reminders, when other people recognize it, that makes it feel even better.

On a ttc note, before starting this cycle, I just wanted to explore my options. So this morning, I spoke with the financial coordinator at my RE's office just to find out how much IVF would cost and if I wanted to use part of my FSA funds towards that instead of two cycles of injectables. After running some numbers, I'm going to stick with two rounds of injectables. She said that IVF would start out at $15,000 (procedure and meds, not including freezing). We were given the option of financing the difference but right now, I'm not sure I want that extra monthly expense. So the plan is to do two rounds of injectables and if I'm not pregnant by that time then we will look into an IVF cycle and if that doesn't work, I am throwing in the towel and Danielle can take over.

Best of luck – hope the injectables will be just the thing you need!

As for your appliances, we just gutted and remodeled our kitchen (actually almost the entire house, but that’s another story) and we found the best prices at a place called Appliances Buy Phone. They’re based out of NY and work thru their website, so we looked at appliances elsewhere but bought thru them. I think we saved a couple grand over what we would’ve paid at a big box store. Not sure what part of the state you’re in, but they deliver to PA a couple of times per week, so it doesn’t take long. Btw, we’re in Chestnut Hill, if you’re at all familiar w/ Philly.

GL next cycle!

I feel your pain with the IVF cost. We have no coverage for it either and can't really see financing it. It is A LOT of money for something that still has no guarantees.

It is so ridiculous and unfair what these infertility treatments and procedures cost.
I hope that the injectibles work for you.
And cool about the class! I did a training a few months back for the staff at a CBRF we contract with for crisis diversion. I was nervous, but based on the responses, I guess I did okay. I hope you get another chance to teach!

Congratulations! You should be very proud of yourself.

Just a thought - PA isn't far from Montreal. Have you considered doing IVF up here? The McGill clinic in Montreal offers three IVF cycles for less than what you'd pay for one.

I'm sorry this advice is unsolicited but just thought I'd throw that out there. I know it can be hard to think of changing doctors and clinics and I'm sure you've already given plenty of thought to how you're going to proceed.
