Gracie Strikes Again

Gracie ate Slice's poop this afternoon. I'm so deeply disturbed by this. Why must she be so gross?

Our dogs do it too - to other dogs' poops - we call them poopsicles when it's winter and the poop is frozen.
I know it's really really gross, but dogs just can't help being gross. And cat food ( and therefore poop) tastes so much better than dog food!
I wonder if there is a miracle cure that would stop this behavior? Have you asked the vet?
Or could you get one of those covered litter boxes that the dog can't get into? - except I know the dog is quite small and probably very wiley!!!
Good luck:)

Our dog did this too! We ended up having to cut a hole in a HUGE Rubbermade storage container and put the litter box in there so the cats could get in but the dog couldn't.

I heard it's because the cats don't digest all the protein in their food so it's some good eats from the dogs perspective. Still super gross!!

I could be that she isn't getting all she needs from the food you are feeding her. Not all high end or vet recommended foods offer the most digestible ingredients.

It's gross, but seems like they all do it.

Mine does it too. No matter what food we have tried. I have heard they won't do it if you put peppermint in the cats food. My cats won't eat mint. We have got some stackable shelving and have put the box up to high for the dog.

Just wait until Gracie discovers the dirty diaper bucket... (:

Yeah, dogs are gross like that. Gracie is not unusual. I think the easiest solution is to make the litter box inaccessible- maybe on a high shelf where Gracie can't reach it. My mother keeps the litter box in the basement, and then cut a mouse hole shaped opening in the bottom of the door that is just big enough for the cat to get through.

Dogs do that, not all but a lot of them do and a lot of them really like Cat poop. They will sometimes even eat their own barf. It's very gross!!! PetsMart has pills you can give to dogs called Deter I think so they wont eat their poop or other dogs poop, maybe see if cats can take that too.
