RE Consult
I left the RE's office today feeling no more confident than when I walked in. She is not changing the protocol, at all. She said that everything is in working order, my levels are good, I ovulate on my own, etc. She told us that there is only a 10% chance of conceiving this way and we just have to just keep on keeping on. She assures us that it will happen. I had to remind her that this is our 13th time. We've been doing this for 19 months! It should have happened by now. I am sick of waiting for it to be my turn. Danielle is floored by the 10% statistic and I think it has discouraged her a bit. However, we didn't come this far to throw in the towel now.

do you think she is not being proactive enough with your treatment approach? i'm not sure what it was that you wanted her to change about your treatment plan, but could you write about that? perhaps other's could give you some feedback on what may need to change and what may not.
from what i have read, usually RE's are pretty aggressive especially if you want them to be and it seems like she isn't honoring your requests. can you get a different RE?
I totally agree with giggleblue. I didn't work with an RE, but my OB was very well versed in infertility, and I worked with an infertlity RN in his practice as well.
We sound like we're in similar situations. I was ovulating on my own every month like clockwork, my levels were good, and I had good 3-layer lining in my uterus. After only 3 months of trying insems at home with no success, my OB was very open to being more aggressive. I started on a low (50mg) dose of clomid and had HCG trigger shots when I got a positive OPK. I FINALLY got my BFP after 7 cycles, having an IUI at the clinic.
Have you had your RE check your blood for immune system issues? I had that done when I started w/my OB, turns out I have the lupus anticoagulant, which caused my daughter to be low birthweight, and then my 3 miscarriages. It can also cause problems with implantation. There are many other blood factors that can cause these similar problems, and you'd never know you had them because they don't have symptoms. Just some food for thought...Best of luck!
Oh, I forgot one more thing...did you have the HSG test? I had that, and the next cycle I got the BFP that would eventually be Mr. Farty. My OB said that even if you don't have a true blockage in the tubes, sometimes there's mucus or other 'junk' that can slow the egg down. The HSG can 'blow out the cobwebs.' It's uncomfortable, but well worth it in my case anyway!
I agree with Giggle too.If you could blog more details and maybe get a roundtable(internet) table discussion going the problem might be found and suggestions given to the next steps.
That's my girl. Call this cycle Luck #13.
You have a lot working for you with this cycle. You're not alone.
