The dogs are a cross between a Maltese and Shih Tzu.

Seriously?!? How did you not put them in your pockets and make a run for it.

So, so cute. They look very content to be held. A maltese mix won't be too big full grown, so it shouldn't be too much trouble to just take them all!

Lisa - I just wrote you a THESIS on dogs and lost it as I was not signed in!!!
argh!!!! It was written with such love and support too!!!
The one thing I really wanted to make clear is - well a couple of things. Temperament is the number one determiner of how your life with the dog is going to be ( ie. the next 10 - 15 years of your life). Do not get a dog that cowers in the corner or seems fearful. Take your puppy to puppy class, socialize it as much as possible, get to know the dog parks, hang out there, read as much as you can about dogs, think about crate training it, get a dog walker for times you can't be home, have her come and walk the puppy mid day until it can hold it for longer, . To me, gender is not the biggest issue, it's temperament and sociability. Good luck - I can't wait to hear more about this exciting new development. And yes, it's a lot of work, but hey - it's summer -a good time to be out and about. We got our dogs on one of the coldest snowiest days in January 12 years ago and we were out every few hours taking them to the potty - it was freezing!!!

That's why they look so much like my moms puppies, she and I breed Maltese and shih-tzu. They are so cute!!! about the boy puppies, when they are grown they will lift their legs and pee on everything.

Cute puppies! I am more of a cat person, but they really are adorable.
I like Bailey and Maisie, just to throw my 2 cents in on the name game!
