Stars

Danielle is convinced the stars are aligned this cycle. You should see how happy and optimistic she is. It's quite beautiful to see and I feel like she has enough optimism for the both of us. When we got there we were happily surprised to see our actual assigned doctor walk into the room to do our IUI. This is the first time she did it. Prior to that we had the nurse and the ice queen. She was so pleasant, encouraging and cheerful that it really raised my spirits. Both she and Danielle were happy with our donor's numbers, to my response to the medication this cycle, and with how the actual IUI went stating she was able to get the catheter in with ease and far up as possible. So now we are in the tww.

In other news, we are considering getting a puppy. It's not definite because our cat is incredibly spoiled and doesn't socialize well with other pets. For those that have both dogs and cats in their home, do you have any suggestions? We are really concerned that Slice will attack the it. In the meantime, here are some possible names: Giles or Willow for a boy. Zava or Winnie for a girl. Danielle hates them all but I think they are fun.

i'm happy to hear that you guys are feeling really good about going into this cycle. it's hard to keep the faith sometimes, but i think when you do, it's far better!

on the dog/cat tip, ours get along fine. this was their first time living with the opposite species. although hiker was and is spoiled, i don't think he was prepared for the playful attitude from scooter. scooter like any dog, loves to play and he sometimes gets on hikers nerves by bucking at him and such.

hiker usually takes it for a little while. they have that older sibling thing going on where your little brother keeps on popping you and popping you and popping you and then you get tired and like punch him in the chest. that's what happens.

i'm not sure what type of puppy you are getting, but considering puppy nature, they really are going to get on the cat's nerves initially. i think once the cat sees that the dog isn't going anywhere, they will start to get along better. might i add, i have a male cat, so that may be the reason for my cat's higher level of tolerance.

i've noticed that my cat only attacks to the point of "leave me alone", so i don't think your cat would just hammer the dog, but then i don't know. scooter usually only takes one scratch or one bite to get the picture. and usually he started it.

I have 4 very spoiled cats, and used to have a dog who was terrified of them. I think you have to make it known from the start that the cat is the boss!
I hope your 2ww brings you success! It sounds like everything went smoothly!

Yay for the IUI!!

We have 3 cats and 1 dog. First we had 1 cat (Olive), got another (Ivy), got the dog (Campbell) and then got another cat (Fern) so we have been around for many scenarios. They all have their different relationships with each other. Fern and Campbell are best friends while the other 2 are aware of Campbell's existence and are happy to leave it at that.

Animals have a way of establishing their hierarchy and relationships amongst themselves. Mini fights break out daily in our house.

The one thing we did do when we first brought the dog home was put up a baby gate to our bedroom so that the cats could have one safe room in the house where the dog couldn't get too but they could still roam the whole house. They loved smacking the dog in the face and running to the bedroom and over the baby gate knowing the dog couldn't get them :)

Just introduce them slowly. Put the dog in the bathroom, rub it down with a towel and let the two smell each other under the door crack. You can also bring the towel out for the cat to get used to his smell.

This is the first time i'm leaving a comment. So everyone knows i'm Lisa's other half. I think we should name the dog Dice if it's a boy. Our cats name is Slice. Get it Slice and Dice!!!! Ha Ha I love it. Lisa hates it. I really do not like any names she picked out. Can anyone give us suggestions on names
?

I am in to manifesting which is also known as positive thinking. To that point I believe you ladies will be seeing that BFP in two weeks.

As for animals.... well... when Holly and I got together we adopted two cats (brother and sister). After a year into our relationship, we adopted our puppy (Aiden). Since Aiden was a puppy it was easier for them to get to know him. They didn't have to deal with a dog who wouldn't stop chasing them and would constantly interrupt their personal space. All they had to do was slap Aiden on the nose with their paw and Aiden would back off. Today all of them get along perfectly. Its a very happy little family!

totally dying over here at Slice and Dice! your next pet after that is going to be named Julienne.

Lisa, if you have twin boys, you can NOT let your partner name them Ben and Jerry, or other assorted names that go together!

I'm thinking you should let her name the dog, if and only if she relinquishes baby naming rights to you. See, problem solved! Dice it is!

So happy to hear about the great IUI! It's great that you're thinking about getting a puppy too. After all, you are going to have a baby soon, and every kid should grow up with a dog. I think all the names you have picked out are very cute.
